Song Prompt: Comfort Chain by Instupendo

I don’t know how long I’ve been staring at the photo of you. I can’t believe it’s been eleven years since you gave me the last hug. Had I known I could never see you again, I would give you a proper goodbye. I’m sorry I wasn’t a good person. Looking back, I think I was a shitty person.

Ever since you left from my life, everything went downhill. I fell into the darkness for a few years before life guided me back to my consciousness. I don’t know what happens if I never took the major. The sadness of knowing that you suddenly disappeared might still holding my mind back.

I learned a lot from people. made friends along the way, created new memories that I would treasure, and eventually getting back on track. Still, though I finally get a grip of myself and can see my old cheerfulness back, there’s an empty hole I can’t fill because you’re not here. You know, I miss the good old days we spent together at school.

The longer I stare at the photo, the bigger the desire to meet you again. I want to tell you about how I got a random nickname from a little boy I first met in a village, how someone mistook me as a guy just because I wore suit, how warm and welcoming everyone in the faculty, anything. You don’t have to tell me yours in return if it brings back pain. We can just hang out somewhere, eat food we both are curious about, play something on Timezone, talking about what’s trending or discussing about random topics, you name it.

But, I agree. Life goes on. If we could never meet for one last time, it’s completely alright. I will continue my journey. Perhaps, our chapter is meant to end that way.

Anyways, I hope you have a good luck and acquire the best life ahead. I will go somewhere again and collect new memories.
